Anagrams

Anagrams are words or phrases made by mixing up the letters of other words or

phrases, e.g. THE EYES is an anagram of THEY SEE. Here are some more good ones:

 

Mother-in-law= Woman Hitler1

  The earthquakes =That queer shake

  Slot machines= Cash lost in 'em

  Debit card = Bad credit

  School master= The classroom

  Eleven plus two= Twelve plus one

  Dormitory =Dirty room

  Punishment= Nine Thumps

  Desperation =A rope ends it

  The Morse code= Here come dots

  Snooze alarms= Alas! No more Zs

  A decimal point= I'm a dot in place

  Astronomer= Moon starer

  Fir cones= Conifers

  The eyes= They see

  Payment received =Every cent paid me

  Conversation =Voices rant on

  The public art galleries =Large picture halls, I bet

  Election results= Lies - let's recount

  Halley's Comet =Shall yet come

  The Hurricanes -These churn air

 

The end of the World is nigh!= Down this hole, frightened.

The best things in life are free.= Nail-biting refreshes the feet!

A stitch in time saves nine.= Is this meant as incentive?

If at first you don't succeed...= ...try deft, if cautious, second.

One good turn deserves another.= Do rogues endorse that? No, never!

Rome wasn't built in a day... =. ...but laid in two years, man.

Rome was not built in a day.= Any labour I do wants time.

To cast pearls before swine.= One's labor is perfect waste.

Many a true word is spoken in jest.= Men joke, and so win trusty praise.
